I have searched the internet and have found SO many people having problems with the game, and after I faced the little bugger myself, I decided to compile one thread that DMW3 fans who want to play, like myself, will hopefully see. This 'tutorial' will teach people how to get the eboot of this game -- I am using a self-made boot, so you should do the same! -- to work properly on the latest or perhaps even older CFWs, but I guess its mostly for adding cheats too? I am using 6.60Pro B-10 with the LATEST Popsloader and CWCheat DB (Database, a file that contains the cheats! Which I'll teach you about in a moment!). To get these files and to update to the latest CFW, if you want that, please see the following!
Links:
Popsloader (I can't directly link you here if you aren't on 6.60)
CWCheat (If you see some scary code, just scroll down)
Updating to 6.60Pro B-10 (you can try to run the game without updating, but if you want to run it and many other games like FFVI PSN, then its the best option. Also, this thread alone contains links and many ways to update, please read through it!)
Popsloader on 6.XX
How to make an eboot (making an eboot off a trashed disc will not work, I have heard -- obviously?)
Popstation GUI 3
If the CWCheat's site or others' sites for adding cheats yourself got to 'technical' for you, I'm going to explain it all easier, or try to, for the readers here. Its actually pretty easy, but I'll get to that later. For now, the tutorial on how to get Digimon World 3/2003 to work and some codes I'm making for it (for now, it is mostly the TP/Training Points cheat).
Once you have updated or not, you will be ready only once you have made your eboot off your disc. With the ISO on your PC and finally covnerted to Eboot, open Popstation GUI 3 and we'll begin getting your eboot ID to change for it to work. When you open Popstation GUI 3, you should see this:
Click the 'BROWSE' button and search for your Digimon eboot as the above directs. Next, if it isn't set, pick a place for the output of the changed eboot (Output simply means a 'home' for the file you are creating. You should just create a folder called 'Digimon World 3 UPDATE' for now). Now we have to actually change the ID of the game!
Select 'Change Game Save and Game ID' and you should see a red window pop up with the name of the game, a drop down box with many different selections and a box to the right of it you can TYPE into.
With the above window up, keep the name 'Digimon World 3' and go into the drop down list and select 'SLPS' and the box to the right of it? Click it and delete it all and then type or paste the following: '01724'. There! Now hit 'OK' and then you are done with the editing.
Now click 'OK' and it should display a messaging telling you it was a success! There, that part is done! Now put the eboot in a folder, I called mine 'Digimon World 3', worked fine. Now, before you boot your game, HOLD R and keep holding it as you launch the game until a Pops list appears. If you have 3.71 in your Pops list, use it. If you don't, I'm afraid you are going to have to update. But I might be wrong on that. Either way, only 3.71 allows you to play and enter inns etc etc. Now Digimon World 3 works! Boo-ya!
Now onto the cheats. If you have CWCheats installed, start your game and hold SELECT for about 3 seconds, if you don't, install it. A menu should pop up after that. You don't see the TP codes? If its not (which I know it isn't, but a total of three people said the code exists so its worth checking ) there, go back to the XMB ( the 'dashboard' of the PSP) and go to the USB port and hook up to your PC.
Navigate to the seplugins folder and the into the CWCheats folder. You should see a 'cwcheatspops.db' file, this is for PSX games. Click into it, find Digimon World 3's line and add this at the end:
_C0 Guilmon TP 150
_L 30049FBA 00000096
Now when you are saving, make sure you save it as 'DB'. So click 'Save as...' and then click the scrollable box and click the part that says 'all files' and then add at the end of the file type and put '.db' at the end. It will ask to replace the old one, say yes. There ya go!
For now, I only have a Guilmon code. I'm working on Bearmon and Patamon right now. When I get the other partners, I will update this thread and create codes for other things as well! So if I find out how to get some Card codes, or item codes working, I'll be sure to post em!
END NOTES:
If the Guilmon code doesn't work for you, try getting at least 1 TP and reporting back to me. It works perfect for me regardless, but I was told it could be different on another PSP. If it doesn't work, please post back and I'll try and fix the code up for you. But I'm pretty sure it works! xD
